Sloppy Joes - Paleo & Whole 30

On those days that you decide, I’m changing my eating patterns, this is a great Whole 30 recipe. Mama said there would be days like these. For me, it’s every Monday! Plus the leftovers are amazing!

Here's how:


2 Tbsp coconut oil or choice of oil

1 red pepper, yellow or orange

1 large onion

1 tsp salt

1 tsp garlic powder

1 lb grass-fed ground beef

3/4 cup paleo ketchup

1/4 cup coconut aminos

2 Tbsp tomato paste


Place the coconut oil in a large skillet. Dice the red pepper and onion and saute in the coconut oil over medium heat. Cook for about 5 minutes, until they start to soften and onions start to become translucent. Sprinkle with salt and garlic powder and stir in. Add the beef and break it up with a spatula. Cook until browned. Add ketchup, coconut aminos, and tomato paste, and stir until combined. Let cook on low for at least 10 minutes. The longer it cooks, the more the flavors will develop. I like to simmer for about 30-40 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
