Tell the Story

This week I had the opportunity to serve my country. That is what they told me, as I sat in a room with over 100 people.I was answering the call of Jury Duty. If you are like me, it is not my favorite thing. But I totally understand the privilege that we have been given.

As I sat in the room waiting to find out my destiny, I observed the people in the room. All ages, different colors of skin, some dressed up and others very casual. Every time the host came to the front of the room, he held the list of names. Everyone in the room sat up, looked up and waited to hear if their name would be called. As the host read the names, you could sense the reactions. Some were frustrated and others relieved that once again, their name was not called.

As I sat there, I thought about the Lamb's Book of Life. Revelation 20:15 is very clear about the book of life. "And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." I thought about the people in that room. What was their story? Do they know Jesus? Have they been invited to the party table? Is their name found in the book that counts for eternity? I found myself filled with compassion for the people in the room.

I get to go back tomorrow, because yes, my name was called and I was chosen to serve my country. I am praying for the people in my room tomorrow to see Jesus in me. I am asking Him for an opportunity to Tell the Story! I hope that we will ask Him everyday for that opportunity. Tell the Story! Let's get busy ~ Chrissie
